Wesley Porter is a graduate of University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX where he graduated with honors. Dr. Porter completed his clinical rotations at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Antonio, TX, First Eye Care in Plano, TX, and Bowden Eye Institute and Lighthouse for the Blind, San Antonio, TX. He practices full-scope optometry as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. His primary interests are primary care, ocular disease, contact lenses, including specialty contact lenses, and pediatrics.
Dr. Porter is an active member of both the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Porter currently lives in Denton, TX with his wife and three kids. He grew up in Morgan, UT and attended Brigham Young University-Idaho where he received his Bachelor degree in Exercise Science and a dual minor in Spanish and Business Management. Other than spending time with his family, he enjoys serving in his church, where he served a two-year service mission in Argentina and became fluent in Spanish. He also enjoys exploring the outdoors and playing sports, especially basketball and soccer.
